What is Dekton Aldem
Dekton Aldem is a light brown material in combination with subtle Grey notes which bring the look and aesthetics of natural wood to internal and external architectural designs through a surface that won’t degrade over time. Stylish, sober and neutral; this material is the ideal choice for kitchen worktops, bathroom and flooring. Dekton Aldem provides the authentic looks of natural pine with superior strength and performance.
Aldem is the ideal material for those who seek continuity in design to both internal and external applications. Dekton is highly resistant to heat as well as to extreme weather conditions without getting affected by UV rays which makes these suitable for barbecue worktops, patios, balconies, terraces, steps and external cladding applications.
Dekton Aldem is available in slab formats with dimensions 3200x1440mm which ensures seamless large surfaces and a beautifully achieved Texture Finish which provides body and a realistic feel to this organic looking material.
An anti slip treatment is available and recommended for barefoot areas, such as pools, wet rooms, saunas or spas.
Dekton is a new and revolutionary product made by Cosentino, the largest engineered stone supplier worldwide.
Dekton is made by mixing an highly developed mix of porcelain, quartz, glass and raw materials resulting in an ultracompact surface that is highly resistant to heat, freeze, scratches, staining whilst being suitable for both indoors and outdoors applications.
The high resistance of Dekton to UV rays ensures the material won’t degrade nor fade with the passage of time and its low coefficient of thermal expansion ensures there won’t be thermal shocks when exposed to either high heat and/or freezing conditions. Its high abrasion resistance offers a product that is easy to work on, ensuring the surfaces never need sealing.
It allows continuity in interior and exterior design by using matching materials which are unique in their colour, texture and finishes. Dekton can be customized for larger projects, enabling architects, designers and specification Companies to create a unique product, particular to a given brand, project or residential property.
It is available in slab formats of 3200x1440mm in most colours and formats of 3170x1420mm on most of the white background colours including Dekton Zenith, Entzo, Halo, Kairos, Aura 15, Fiord, Tundra and Glacier. The size of these slabs brings a whole new world of design possibilities, bringing seamless surfaces to kitchens, flooring, bathrooms and facades.
There are available finishes in X Gloss with unique sheen in a polished surface, Smooth Matte which suits traditional spaces as well as Dekton Grip, an anti-slip solution for wet areas including swimming pools, spas, bathrooms and saunas and a unique Textured Finish for industrial or aged designs.
Dekton offers thicknesses of 8mm, 12mm, 20mm and 30mm thicknesses, recommending 8mm and 12mm for cladding and 12mm thickness and over for kitchen worktop and countertop applications.
Dekton uses a Sinterized Particle which works at a molecular rather than granular level, which ensures the material has practically zero water porosity, enabling it to work on any environment and foods including colourants such as curry, lemon, coffee and ketchup.
